About "The Have Knots" Jewelry

About Our Hand-Wrought Jewelry

All of "The Have Knots" jewelry is woven by Dan and Allison. We use Pure Silver and Pure Gold that is melted into ingots, poured into a mold, and then drawn through draw-plates into wire...all by hand. We prefer to create our jewelry in the time-honored way.

We then weave the wire by hand into works of art: bracelets, rings, crowns/circlets, hatbands, armbands, chokers, anklets, and anything else we can think of. All of our jewelry items are complex and decorative knots. Our rings are "Turkshead" knots. Our bracelets are a form of knot called a "Prolong" knot, which is similar to a Turkshead knot but does not close around upon itself. Our Celtic crowns are a form of woven knot called a flat "Sinnet", which is a type of plait. You may read more about these knots on the separate pages detailing each type of jewelry we offer.

The process of making knot jewelry takes hours; from smelting the metals to the finished product. We treat each job with care and patience, and we do not mass-produce our jewelry. In many cases, we must make a jig that is custom-fit to each buyer. We love what we do so that you may love what you buy from us.

If you are a customer of ours or feel that we have a great website and products, please let others know about us. We offer discounts to those who have honored us by telling others about us. If you just want to let us know that you appreciate what we do and what we make, please Contact Us to let us know. We always love hearing from new people.

Why Pure Silver?

Down through the ages and across all cultures, Silver has always been symbolic of truth and wisdom, and to quote sacred scriptures, "Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer". Rather poetic, isn't it? Aside from the poetic aspect of using pure silver, it is easier to work and weave than sterling silver, will actually tarnish far more slowly than sterling silver, and makes a much finer piece of jewelry.
